Join us for an afterschool adventure in the great outdoors!


Thanks to the Whittenberger Foundation, Lithia 4Kids, Idaho National Laboratory , the Laura Moore Cunningham Foundation and the National Outdoor Learning Alliance, this 9-week afterschool program is 100% free to children from low-income families.

  • The National Outdoor Learning Alliance has been awarded generous grants to initiate a groundbreaking afterschool program at EverWild Forest School in Boise. This program is specifically for children in Kindergarten to Grade 6 who come from low-income families, ensuring that outdoor learning opportunities are accessible to all.

    The grant will empower the National Outdoor Learning Alliance to host a free afterschool program at EverWild Forest School, aiming to counteract the negative health effects of poverty on youth through increased access to safe green spaces. EverWild Forest School, known for its immersive and impactful learning experiences, employs a holistic, whole-child approach to afterschool care, allowing children to engage with nature, expand their knowledge, and develop crucial life skills. The carefully crafted curriculum will encourage participants to explore the wonders of the outdoors, engage in hands-on activities, and foster a deep appreciation for the environment.

  • Monday - Friday 3:30 - 5:45 PM

    Spring Session: March 25 - May 24, 2024

  • We offer the provision of outdoor gear for the entire session, and our knowledgeable educators will provide valuable tips on maintaining comfort throughout the program while being outdoors.

  • To qualify for this free afterschool program, eligibility is determined by assessing your total household income and size during the month in which the application is submitted. The evaluation is conducted in accordance with the grant income guidelines.
