Join our Board of Directors!
The National Outdoor Learning Alliance (NOLA) is growing, and we're looking for passionate, engaged community members to join our Board of Directors. We're currently seeking candidates for the roles of Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary.
Board members provide governance, financial oversight, and strategic direction in support of our mission. All board positions are unpaid volunteer roles. Directors are expected to attend four board meetings per year and contribute approximately two-four hours per month depending on need.

Board Member Role Descriptions
Chair
The Chair leads the Board of Directors and presides at all board meetings. Responsibilities include:
Setting meeting agendas in partnership with the Executive Director
Guiding the Board in fulfilling its governance and oversight duties
Serving as the primary liaison between the Board and the Executive Director
Leading the annual review of the Executive Director's performance and compensation
Representing NOLA to funders, partners, and the community as needed
Vice Chair
The Vice Chair supports the Chair and ensures continuity of board leadership. Responsibilities include:
Presiding at board meetings in the Chair's absence
Assisting the Chair with agenda planning and board priorities
Leading special projects or committees as assigned by the Board
Preparing to assume the role of Chair in the future
Secretary
The Secretary maintains the official records of the organization. Responsibilities include:
Recording and distributing minutes of all board meetings
Sending meeting notices to directors in accordance with the bylaws
Maintaining corporate records, including bylaws, resolutions, and board rosters
Documenting board votes, elections, and written consents
