Students explore the wider world while building skills within their inner selves through NOLA’s unique blend of nature connection and growth-mindset curriculum.

Program Summary

NOLA harnesses the power of nature to enhance mental health, build resilience, and promote pro-social behaviors through outdoor immersion and a specialized Social Emotional Learning curriculum in this unique program.

Regular visits (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) from NOLA’s experienced educators will help your students develop essential life skills that enhance both their overall wellbeing and academic success.

Class Structure

Upon arrival in the formal classroom, NOLA’s educators will frontload expectations and goals for the day with your students. The group will then gear up and go to your school’s outdoor space or local park (if applicable). Our educators will then facilitate a lesson and activity from our SEL curriculum, helping students build skills in confidence, independence, empathy, teamwork, and resilience. Activities may include a Wonder Walk, yoga, art project, or team-building game.

  • 45-60 minutes per class

  • We can conduct 1-3 separate classes per visit (up to 3 onsite hours).

    Example schedule:
    Riverdale Elementary, every Wednesday

    • Kindergarten Nature Explorers Class 8:30am-9:15am

    • 2nd Grade Nature Explorers Class 9:30am-10:15am

    • 4th Grade Nature Explorers Class 10:30am-11:30am

  • 24-32 students per class

  • Weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly for 12-week sessions throughout the school year.

  • Weekly Classes

    NOLA will bring the Nature Explorers Program to your school once a week.

    The cost below covers up to 32 students for all 12 classes over the period of 12 weeks.
