Outdoor PE Program

The Outdoor Physical Education program offers students a unique opportunity to move their bodies and connect to nature simultaneously through play.

Program Summary

Through a variety of outdoor movement activities such as obstacle courses, nature walks, yoga, games, and team-building exercises, students build confidence and increase their physical fitness while deepening their connection to nature.

NOLA’s Outdoor Physical Education Program is led by experienced outdoor educators in partnership with the school’s PE teacher on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis.

Class Structure

NOLA provides two educators to co-facilitate a maximum of three consecutive Outdoor PE classes per visit accommodating groups of 24-32 students at a time. The Program assumes the class’s primary PE teacher, substitute, or paraeducator will be present and available to assist with class management during the length of the program.

  • 45-60 minutes per class

  • We can conduct 1-3 separate classes per visit (up to 3 onsite hours).

    Example schedule:
    Riverdale Elementary, every Tuesday

    • Kindergarten Outdoor PE Class 8:30am-9:15am

    • 2nd Grade Outdoor PE Class 9:30am-10:15am

    • 4th Grade Outdoor PE Class 10:30am-11:30am

  • 24-32 students per class

  • Weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly for 12-week sessions throughout the school year.

Cost per 12-Week Session

  • Weekly Classes

    NOLA will bring the Outdoor PE Program to your school once a week.
    (12 classes total)

    The cost below covers up to 32 students for all 12 classes over the period of 12 weeks.

  • Bi-Weekly Classes

    NOLA will bring the Outdoor Science Program to your school once every other week.
    (6 classes total)

    The cost below covers up to 32 students for all 6 classes over the period of 12 weeks.

  • Monthly Classes

    NOLA will bring the Outdoor Science Program to your school once a month.
    (3 classes total)

    The cost below covers up to 32 students for all 3 classes over the period of 12 weeks.
